bladder infections and on three different antibotics, can it be kidney problems

My 5 year old is on a antibotic now for the third time in a row. Going to see a specialist. My question to anyone out there could this all be some how kidney problems and what kind of problem. Need any advice.

  • Did they do a urine culture? They test the urine to see what antibiotics this particular uti is sensitive to and usually use one of those. If its not clearing up and/or they didnt do a culture i would ask the specialist to run a kidney panel (blood test) just to make sure the kidneys a running good and ask for a culture. They may (if it went that far) do csytoscopy. They put a tube like if they were do a cath with a camera to look at the bladder to see whats going on in there. Ive had one done and they shoot lydocain in the urethra (no needle) to numb it in there before going in so it dont hurt. All you feel is the presure. Hope your babys ok :)
