How long is to long for a 3 year old to go pee?

My son just turned 3 today and we have been potty training for a little while now but today he hasnt gone pee since 10am this morning it is not almost 6:30 pm how long should i go bfore calling the doctor. Mind you he has drank lost of fluids!!!

  • Sit him on the potty. Are you sure he didn't go himself? Have him sit there and read a book.

  • He might be holding it? ... Try to just sit him on the potty and see what happens. Read a book or 2 :)

  • When he sits on the potty all he says is cannt go! He hasnt peed himself He has been in underwear all day and they are not went and they dont smell!

  • Depending he still may have gone all on his own, unless he uses a little potty that you'd know. Course my little girl had one for a bit and she'd empty it herself too sometimes. In realtity they can hold it for awhile sometimes. Em has been able to go from 7am till 4 in the afternoon staying dry at daycare back when she wore pullups.
    If you're really concerned though it's never hurtful to call the pediatrition and ask about it.

  • If it was me I'd call the ped and check with him about it. When my son had just turned 3 and we were almost fully potty trained he couldn't hold it that long especially when he drank alot.

  • We took him to the er last night and his bowels were so backed up that it hurt when he peed so he didnt pee. He finally peed at 1130 pm last night and pooped at midnight! so we are all good now he is still backed up but we are getting better THANK YOU for all of you help!
