Does anyone have "leaky heart valves"?

I was told by my doctor that an echo found "leaky valves". These include my mitral and tricuspid valves. Has anyone dealt with that?

  • I have leaky heart valves. Mild mitral regurgitation, moderate tricuspid regurgitation and mild pulmonary insufficiency. So i'm 3 for 4 lol. I was diagnosed around age 21, i'm 31 now. I took Toprol for about 6 months at first diagnosis but have been off any meds since that time. I just take antibiotics prior to any dental work or surgeries. It hasn't caused me any problems aside from occasional palpitations. I ran a half marathon a couple years ago with no problems.I'm down to seeing my cardio every 2 years. No problems during pregnancy, only IV antibiotics prior to my c-section.

  • I have regurgetation (sp) but it doesn't usually affect me, every once in a while I will have something that feels like a panic attack but it's just my heart. They are just keeping an eye on it. So far nothing has happened and I'm not on medication but I don't drink caffiene because it makes it worse.
