  • MOD policy states that abortion is not the solution to the problem of birth defects. The MOD has long maintained its neutrality on the issue of abortion. All grantees and contractors regardless of their personal opinions are prohibited from using MOD funds for abortion research, to pay for abortions, or to give directive advice concerning abortions. Fetal tissue research does not violate this policy if applicable federal regulations are adhered to. A non-directive referral for counseling, if requested by a patient in the course of prenatal care, does not violate this policy.

  • UGHS. Planned Parenthood does a lot of prenatal medical help also, like OB visits.

Since most people going to PP are younger, lower income or with no insurance, they're generally at a naturally higher risk for premature birth..

PP has excellent OB's from what I've heard in my town.

BTW, I'm pro-life, and just because somewhere performs abortion doesn't mean they also don't perform miracles and a great service to women in your community.

  • They're a charity to help prevent premature births. Where you get pregnancy termination from that, I have no idea.

  • Planned Parenthood does so much more than perform abortions.

  • I had heard that they financially support Planned Parenthood who DOES perform abortion.

Answer by Gal51 at 10:51 AM on Nov. 16, 2010

  • No, in fact they claim that abortion is not an answer to birth defects.

  • but they do perform abortion, do they not?

Answer by Gal51 at 10:58 AM on Nov. 16, 2010

  • I don't think so. I thought March of dime is for premature and sick children

Answer by HomeAlone45 at 11:21 AM on Nov. 16, 2010

  • I don't think they have a stance on abortion one way or the other. That isn't the issue they are concerned with.

  • I don't think so and I was glad to read that funds do not go to pay for abortions, fund abortions research, etc. because if that was the case I would have to stop my donations to them.
