I am in such a good place but....

We pay for two college tuition ($100k this year).. Next year three. My cash flow is all going out the door how do you deal with a tight budget and a husband with a tighter ass?
And no it is not an option to not pay for the kids education. He had to pay for his and said that is why he wants to pay for our kids.

  • Cheaper schools?
What if you had them look for scholarships? Maybe offer to give them the cash difference after they graduate from college?

  • Consider yourself lucky to be ABLE to pay and not put your kids in debt when they graduate - at least not ALOT of debt. Remember, college won't last forever. Seems like everyone is on a budget these days so don't feel alone! And asking the kids to get a job and help out would be a good idea - everyone needs to help each other.

  • Look into cheaper schools, community college for the basic courses, living at home instead of going away, them getting a job and paying for rent and food themselves.
Be sure not to neglect your own finances while paying for college, or you will be living with one of your children in the future while THEY pay your way through retirement. Not a nice burden to have to put on your kids.

  • Sorry your husband is being so stubborn. The easiest way around that would be student loans and scholarships.
