how long do you boil chicken?

im boiling chicken drumsticks so i can cut it up, its on high and probably been about 15 minutes. how long til its done?

  • No matter what part of the chicken you are boiling, if it's been boiling long enough it will be tender enough to fall off the bone when you take a fork to it. Additionally, like the other answers have said it will not show any signs of pink or blood near the bone when cooked through properly. The size of the chicken legs will have to be taken into consideration when cooking them since chickens do come in various sizes and how high a flame you are cooking the chicken at on the stove.

  • I would boil the for a good 30 min longer if they were frozen. Just check one first.

  • they were thawed, they look done but im used to breasts not drumsticks with all the brown grissly parts on it. i think its done? :/

  • I usually boil mine till they boil over and make a mess. LOL I think 15 minutes is fine just make sure there is no red by the bone.
