If your new boyfriend...

..buttered your bread and handed it to you at a restaurant when you asked him to pass the bread...and poured you more tea when he noticed you were out..would you think he was sweet or possibly controlling?

  • i would like polite and sweet

if he put butter on when he knew you are lactose un tolerate- then no
if he poured you more tea when you were drinking water because you hate tea- then no
if he told you that one sugar packet is enough for you when you like to put three in- then controlling
if he told you that you should not have a 2nd bread because bread is fattening and you do not need anymore- then controlling

if he opens the door for you-sweet and polite
if he opens the door, you walk through, but is he is not behide you because he ran into an old girlfriend and stops to say hi- rude, controlling and dump him

i guess i do not see control, are you sensing a control issue, or are you not used to polite sweet men who know how to treat a lady

you DO deserve to be treated sweetly

  • Sweet. My hubby does this stuff all the time. Last night I said "a glass of milk sounds good right now." And next thing I knew he was handing me a glass of milk.

  • Sweet. I would only consider it controlling if you told him not to and he still did.
