What chart did you follow to be sure you were gaining the proper amount of weight while pregnant?

  • I didn't pay attention to my weight. I didn't think it was important, as long as my doctor said the baby was healthy. FYI, I weighed around 145-150 before and was back to that a couple weeks after delivery. I've just never been a person to be obsessed with knowing my weight.

  • I followed my own doctor's advice. In general, women who are underweight are advised to gain 25-35 lbs. Women who are normal weight 15-25 lbs. Women who are overweight around 15. It's always best to follow the advice of your doctor/midwife, who is more familiar with your body than any chart, and who may advise you otherwise.

  • I followed my doctors advice.He said eat a snickers everyday,so I ate a snickers everyday!

  • I didn't follow anything. I only thought about it when he said 6 pounds in a week was too much to gain, but, since it was between Thankgiving and Christmas he would let it slide.

  • I didn't follow a chart my doc said because of my weight and height prior to getting pregnant I didn't need to gain too much. I was 165 already and between working full time and watching my nephew in the evenings I only gain 17 pounds.

  • I didn't pay any attention to my weight either. I figure whatever I gained I can lose if I try hard enough. I wanted healthy babies that's all I cared about. With my first I gained 23 pounds and with my second I gained 19 pounds. I did great for not caring about weight gain! Also lost it all within 6 weeks of having my little ones. :) But I actually HAVE hips now. LOL Starting out with first I was 155 starting out with DD I was 165 :) (28 months apart)
