How to stop a cockatiel from nesting? adult content

I have done a lot of reading on cockatiels and their mating behaviors. My cockatiel is having "personal time" about 3 times a day. I know she needs to be stopped so she doesn't become egg bound, but how? We just got her a month ago, and compared to her last home, she gets handled and talked to alot more. Should we just ignore her and let her be for a few days, giving her more "dark" time under her sheet? If we start talking with her again, will she just start the process over again?

  • Make sure she doesn't have a nesting box,or anything that could be used as one.
