Does anyone read science fiction or fantasy books? What are your faves?

My life can be so mundane that when I read a book I really like to get lost in a fantasy world.

  • I've lost myself in Anne McCaffrey's Dragon Riders of Pern series. Tolkien's books are wonderful. J R Ward's Brotherhood series - yummy. The Hitchhiker's Guide books are oldies but goodies. Getting ready to read Harry Turtledove's Atlantis books. Love the Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart and The Princess Bride by William Goldman. Also love fantasty and sci-fi for the young adult readers - Cornelia Funke, Melling, T.A. Barron....etc.

  • Yes I do. I tend to like the classics (Verne, Asimov, etc). Some Margaret Atwood fits, PD James, Battle Royale... that's all I can think of right now.

  • I started reading the Blaze books about a year ago...sad but my husband and his buddies were reading them before I was. But they one series that is a time travel series, and it is pretty good. It's hard to imagine a bunch of men reading these books when they are a little smutty, but they are pretty good. I like them.
