  • I have only used one for one situation. I do not like shock collers but in this instance I was afraid my dog Beau would break through the glass door and get hurt. He would get very excited when I let the dogs in even if they were only out for 5 minutes. I worked for weeks with him to sit and wait at the door. I admit he was better but he woud still slam his body against the door and he is a big boy. I only had to use it twice and he stopped body slamming the door. I do not recommend using the coller for regular training.

  • Interesting because I have noticed recently an increase in trainers using e collars to obedience train dogs. I was wondering how pet owners felt about electric training collars. I think some people/ trainers use them as a shortcut, but I don't think it is an effective shortcut. I do not use these collars either.
