Do you make different meals for your kids if they don't like what's for dinner?

or is it, you eat what I cook or you don't eat?

  • Absolutely not. I am not a short order cook. They will eat what I make for dinner, or they may choose not to eat.

  • I do only under special circumstances. Like if dinner turned out less desirable than I had hoped and they just hate it. Or if it's too spicy for their taste. I pretty much make dinners catering to everybody's specific likes and dislikes so it's rare that a dinner is disliked. Plus my husband is extremely picky so I have to be really careful about what I make to begin with.

  • Nope, we all eat what is cooked, thats just the rule in our house.

  • I used to and it was a huge mistake. If I had to do it over again I would say this is what's for dinner and if they eat fine, if not they will at the next meal.

  • Nope, they're stuck with what I make. So far, not a big issue.

  • No. 2 of my 3 LOVE spicy food, and there is never anything that is "out of their scope" because they have been exposed to such a wide variety of foods since they began eating solids. I am not a short order cook, they eat what I make, or they do not eat. I refuse to turn them into whiny, picky little brats.

  • I knew what my family liked so I didn't have much of a problem. I did make my meals a little different from theirs.
