Hamburger went brown - it was pink yesterday, I swear! To use or not to use?

It's 2 lbs of hamburger and the sell by date was the 13th. :{ I didn't realize I had it that long, it's only been a few days. The store usually has a great deal on 5 for $20 meats so I get a bunch... usually I freeze some but I never got around to it. Do I need to make a trip up to the store? :\

  • Usually meats ok for about 2 days after use by date....but I'd chunk it.

  • I cut into it (to chop in in 1/2 and use only 1lb) and it's brown all the way thru. I'm suprised!!

  • That's what I think too. It's been 5 days after the sell by date. :( *sigghhh*. I hate to waste food but I'd rather waste food than get some nasty disease. Thanks ladies.
