At 20 weeks, about one in four pregnancies are breech presentation. By full term, the incidence is about 4%.

  • Before it comes out. Seriously, they can turn any time. My oldest turned the day before I checked into the hospital at 38 weeks.

  • That's different for everyone, but generally speaking within the last few weeks. Whether it be the last two or the last four. Some babies are head down for the last month wheras others are head down at the very last minute.

  • Quoted from: http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment/whenheadengage/

"Just as every mum's labour is different, every baby engages at different times towards the end of pregnancy."

Read the whole thing on the website, it was pretty cool!

  • Maybe never~
Babies are more likely to be head down as their heads become heavier. But may turn with the nudges of early labor contractions.
But many babies are born breech, too, so it doesn't necessarily *have* to happen.
