Short hair on a girl?

And long hair on a boy... What do you think when you see these? Not looking for drama or bashing. Just wondering what everyone's first thought is when you see a little girl with a boy hair cut or a boy with long hair.

  • Why would this be bad? I have short hair, my mom has short hair, and my daughter will have short hair until she can take care of it herself.

  • LOL..I have short hair. My son has been known to sport longer hair. We don't believe in absolute gender rules. I played with cars as a child and he had a kitchen set and a doll. He has worn red plaid skinny jeans from the girl dept. Haha I prefer my hair short, he prefers his longer.

  • I've had short hair ever since I was in 5th grade. Short hair can look good. As far as a boy with long hair,to me it looks like they'retoo poor or lazy to cut the child's hair.

  • I didnt say this was bad! I have just seen a sudden surge in short hair on girls and long hair on boys, and was just wondering what other people think about it. I am just curious.

  • I think if the girl looks really girly then a short cut does not matter, because you don't want them to feel uncomfortable by people saying oh he is so cute...

As for a boy having long hair same too say, I would not want someone saying omg she is so pretty....

My son was one when I cut his hair and only because he is a pretty boy.... Everyone said how beautiful she is... So to avoid the
drama of explaining I did get him a boy cut.

Honestly too each their own this is just my opinion....

  • Hair length does not make you poor or lazy....

This kid on my sons foot ball team has long hair, and trust me his parents are not poor or lazy...

***Some boys like long hair, some girls like short hair....

  • it depends on the age but i personally hate them both. short meaning, like a boy hair cut, i think is just horrible and i hate long hair on a boy too especially when its down to like the shoulders and lower.

  • I see no problem with either. My boys have been known to try to grow their hair. If DD wanted to cut hers all off it would be fine with me - it's her hair.

It's also a tradition for some to not cut their boys hair until they turn 3 and then they have a special hair cutting party. Sometimes you see little boys with the most gorgeous long hair and curls. I almost get jealous that my hair isn't that nice.

  • I'm not a fan of either really. I think a girl should look like a girl, and a boy should look like a boy. SO agrees. But to each his own. But NO ONE is gong to call my DD or DS the wrong gender.
