  • We used vinegar and water for our dog, about 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. It was recommended by a trainer friend of ours. Just remember it stinks to us, too, lol!

  • Never rub their nose in it. Always treat you dog the same way you would treat your child. Would you spray vinegar water in your child's mouth if he had an accident? Teach him one word that will mean "bathroom" and always use that word when you take him out. Watch for obvious signs that your dog needs to go and use the word quickly. If you see him looking for a place to go yell "NO" and quickly take him outside to the appointed spot and say "GO" or whatever word you have chosen. Take him to the same spot every time and he will quickly learn what he is expected to do when the gets there. Give lots of love and praise when he gets it right. Never reprimand after the fact. If you do not catch him in the act just clean it up and watch the dog more carefully next time.

  • My dog Does know 'go outside' and 'potty' i've already accomplished everything you advised to do. she's just being stubborn still.

  • Never rub their nose in it that will only teach your dog to be afraid of you, and it's considered animal abuse. The other answers are good!

  • negative reinforcement is definatley not the way to's just the same for your kids. Be patient, anything that you would NOT do to your kids, DO NOT do to your pet.
