birthday party food

if you are having a kids birthday party that is from7:00 pm-9:00pm do you assume there will be food like pizza or just the cake? is it ok to just have cake and may be some snack foods. I am really trying to keep cost down.

  • I would just put snacks and cake will be served on the invites so there is no confusion

  • I would just think cake and ice cream would be fine. Most people would have already in my opinion have eaten dinner.

  • ice cream and cake ... that's after dinner time and that's normal fare for a birthday party! If dinner were to be served, you'd say so on the invitation.

  • I think having cake & snacks is fine. I agree with maybe mentioning it on the invitation so there is no confusion.

  • 7:00 is after dinner here, so I wouldn't expect more than cake and drinks.

  • for my girls we make princess food! Finger snadwhiches made into fun shapes, princess cookies, and of course a cake!
