Question about Tourettes and tics

Is it possible to ONLY have tics in public and none at home?

  • Possible. Usually its the other way around. One of my sons has TS. Sometimes they can suppress it for a while but then when they get in a "safe" place (like home) it all just kind of comes out. Maybe the person doesnt feel OK at home ticcing & in public it feels ok to do it since they are strangers & wont be seeing the person again probably. Tics are very tricky things. (FYI: My son is now 20. He was diagnosed with TS at 7 yrs old)

  • Yes, some with TS only have tics when they are anxious. If they are in public and not fully comfortable, the tics can come out.
