Thanksgiving Appetizers: What do you serve?

Do you open a bag/box and pour into a bowl, or is it another thing on the list of things for you to 'make'?

  • This year I'm doing
    -baked raspberry brie with crusty bread and crackers
    -Veggie and Fruit Tray
    -Rolled Mozzarella stuffed with basil

    and possibly a meat and cheese tray...depends on how many people are going to be there for appitizers.

    I usually do a kind of "buffet style" come and go appitizer set up to appease people while I finish up dinner because we usually eat late afternoon and since I'm so busy in the kitchen I usually don't bother making a production out of breakfast or lunch. We just snack on appitizers throughout the day.

  • actually my mom hosts turkey day dinner and has never served an appetizer. but im thinking this year ill go to her house a little earlier and make deviled eggs, never made them before but im excited to try :)

  • Since there is so much food involved with the meal itself, we usually just have veges/dip and a fruit/cheese platter.

  • I'm going to a friend's house. I'm bringing Mexican chip dip (blend room temp cream cheese, sour cream and a package of taco seasoning, top with shredded cheese, green pepper, tomato, and green onion) and I know she'll have pickles wrapped in cream cheese and ham (sounds weird, but tastes so good), and I think a veggie tray, but I'm not sure.

  • I'm making stuffed mushrooms, I have spreadable cheese and summer sausage to go on Ritz crackers, and I think I am going to make a big batch of bruschetta and use bagel chips to dip in it.
