Baby name emergency! 37 weeks pregnant & still no name!

Quick background, my husband's name begins with Bry, mine with Ray & we want our second daughters name to contain either of those or a combo, Bray. We have 3yo DD Brynnlee Rose.

We cannot agree on anything except Brayslie Briar, but I'm afraid it's too close to our DD. I love it with Brynn's name as a sib set but I'm not a huge fan of Brays as a NN

My other top 3 are
Abryenne (A-bree-En) with NN of Abry to go with DD's Brynn NN
Auraylia - I <3 this but hubs thinks it sounds like 'I'll rail ya!' lol and there's no NN
Rayenne - this is probably my least fav of my tops but it has a built in NN, same as mine

His other top picks
Braylin - Ijust reeaallly don't like it, lol
Brayslin - not too bad, but we both agree that we like Brayslie better

No MN's for any of the other choices...

So should we just say eff it and go with the one we both like most (Brayslie) even though it sounds close to DD's name?

  • I'd say Braylyn sounds closer to DD's name. I like Brayslie. It's cute. Brayslie Briar's a little too many B's for me though. But it's your little one. And you could always go with Lee for a nn. GL!

  • Brayslie is a cute name and since both of you like it--go with it.

  • I would just like to kindly and gently point out that a bray is the hee-haw sound a donkey will make, so just be sure to take that into consideration too with the nick names.

What about Rayanne? Bryley? Aubry? Bryanne? Raina (or Rayna) I believe is Portuguese for love, beautiful name!

  • I do like Brayslie. Not a huge fan of Briar as a middle name only because the B-B sounds are mouthfuls. I would call her Bray for a NN. Good Luck! Such an important decision.

  • I just don't like any of the typical 'Ray' names for girls. They just aren't my style. It would be easy for me to give a boy a Ray name though, there's a bunch I like, but that'll just have to wait til next time, lol!
