im just wondering ive heard that it can but i was told by a nurse thats not true ju

  • Itcauses you to become more effects...semen has a certain chemical that's also in pittocin. Sex was what put me into labor with my first.

  • To some women it does induce labor, and to some it doesn't. It's not clinically proven to be a fact.

  • If you are already starting very early labor then it can move things along quicker. The sperm can help soften the cervix and the orgasm can help increase contractions as well as nipple stimulation can help increase contractions.

  • Yeah, I was told that the sex can't but the males sperm can >.> it also depends on how many CM's your dilated before that happens though too.

  • Well I think it helped me, I went into labor right after, and before that my previous dr appt. said I hadn't even started dilating. So either I automatically jumped, or the sex helped....

  • My opinion...YES!!! I was 36 weeks pregnant and went into labor after sex...I heard the semen can ripen the cervix...only if its ready!!!
