Is there such a thing as a decafinated tea plant?

Just asking because I'm always feeling funny (sick) after drinking decaf Lipton tea and not the regular Lipton and was wondering if it was a chemical process (which it probably is) or if there is a plant strain.....

  • Nope, caffeine is a natural part of Tea... You'll never find a decaf plant...

  • It's a chemical (or sometimes natural) process to remove the caffeine. Caffeine is naturally occurring in all tea plants as far as I know.

  • Green tea is naturally decaf and tastes similar to lipton. I drank it all the time when i was preg and anything caffeinated made me ill.
