can you make green bean casserole with a different vegetable?

2 of my kids hate green beans but the rest of us love the casserole witht eh french fried onions. wondering what works good as a substitute

  • california mixed vegetables - broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. i add a little cheese when i use that instead of beans. my kids LOVE it.

  • we have a recipe for an awesome broccoli casserole but it's not like green bean casserole... Its Paula Dean's recipe really bu tit is so good. We may make it for Thanksgiving instead of grn bean casserole. DH hates the green bean one.

  • Kids usually like carrots and may work with those but squash- both yellow and zuchini I bet, would be wonderful. Man, you guys are making me

  • Broccoli, cauliflower carrots, peas, mixed veggies. Basically any vegetable would work.
