what does it take for you to vote down an answer?

ill admit when i ask a question and get a rude answer or something that conflicts with my general idea i automatically want to vote down. but then i remind myself everyone has their own opinion, and i save the vote downs for anything that is insulting. if someone is just flat out calling me names or saying something completely insulting even if it's in someone else's question thats when i use my vote down. i try not to be vote-down happy lol

  • I vote down rude or inaccurate information, like someone who suggests douching or telling someone with breastfeeding issues to just switch to formula, etc. Definitely any mean or judgmental comments get voted down.

  • If I disagree with it.

Honestly, I save my 15 for rude anons- they lose points :)

  • rude, stupid, inaccurate answers

  • Extremely rude answers will get a vote down from me. Once in a great while I'll vote down somebody who has a holier than thou attitude. When somebody already has issues the last thing they want to hear is how damn perfect your life is.
To be honest I have only voted down probably less that 10 answers in total. I much prefer to vote up.

  • I usually only vote up, every once in a while I see an answer that is completely rude and out of line, then I might vote down.

  • I have maybe voted down 5 times or less. I don't understand those who vote down Just For Fun answers that are not offensive in the least - some seem to be targeted by others for vote down. Anouk (not sure if I spelled it right), who I believe posts intelligent, well-thought out answers, is voted down routinely by someone. I don't get it.

  • If I agree I vote up, if I don't, I vote down..

Answer by Ren_Ren at 11:27 AM on Nov. 19, 2010

  • If the answer is rude and not helpful to the question I vote down. For the most part I vote up

  • I vote down if the answer is rude, insulting, or generally unkind.

  • nastiness or rudeness, personal attacks, misinformation or prejudice/stereotype. I don't ever down vote merely because someone thinks differently than me, though.
