  • First of all, its going to hurt. Even with the epidural, there is no guarantee of "pain free". They're microscopic going in and HUGE coming out. 2nd, you may vomit or poop during delivery, it happens for some. 3rd, most likely, it is NOT going to go the way your hoped or wanted. Chillax, what matters is that you are both safe and healthy. 4th, have support physically there, the dad, your mom, a friend, whatever. Its going to take HOURS. 5th, take pictures!! Sure the baby is looking kinda funky and covered wtih blood, mucous, various fluids, but thats the very first moment he or she has entered our world. 6th, have the dad cut the cord. Its awesome. 7th, delivering the placenta is not fun. You're tired and sore and really don't want to grunt out anything else. 8th, about an hour after delivery they're going to make you shower. 9th, you probably will not be allowed to eat anything once admitted to the hospital.

  • 10th, its INTENSE, in every way you can imagine and then some. There is so much physically, psychologically, and emotionally going on. 11th, STAY at the hospital as long as your insurance will let you. 12th, ask the nurses what is going on, how to breastfeed, they will show you how. ITS THEIR JOB to take care of your baby while you recover there. Let them. Work with them. You will hurt in so many places and bleed like the worst period of your life times ten. 13th, you may need to be cut. It sucks and its uncomfortable having stitches in your business, but you gotta get that head and shoulder out, and its better than ripping.
