Would you let your 10 yr old go?

Would you let your child go with there bio-parent that they just meet a month ago for the first time, to go shopping. By the way this child is only 10 yrs of age.

  • Is there a reason you feel they should not go? 10 is a age they can speak for themsleves. Ask them if they want to go!

  • Probably not. But I am the super paranoid type of parent. :)

  • As long as I knew the parent wasnt a flight risk I would let the child go.

  • I just answered 2 mins ago and changed my mind. I think it would be really hard unless YOU trust the person..10 yr olds dont know who they should and shouldnt trust. I would have to have more info ot make a decision.

  • unless I knew the bio parents no .... they maybe the ones that gave them up for adoption and doesn't make them bad but its still my responsibility to keep my kids safe. I wouldn't let them just go off with someone I don't know.

  • First off I would find out if the child was even interested in going. If they were I would let them, but I would put a cell phone in their pocket and let them know that it wud be fine to call if anything changes, if they didn't feel comfortable, or if they just need to talk to you.

  • Not without knowing them, no. They may have given birth, but you raised him (her?). I would allow it, but only if I could come along as a chaperone, even if I stayed behind a distance.
