  • 1 large can chunk chicken, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of chicken, 3 cups instant rice, 3/4 to 1 can water. Mix together and bake on 350 for 30 min. you could also throw in frozen broccoli. My kids' favorite meal

  • Don't make meals where each person gets a portion of a meat, like pork chops. Buy less in weight than you usually do, then cut up and make a stir fry with lots of veggies. Veggies cost less than meat. Make beans and cornbread. Chili, spaghetti, shepherds pie. Breakfast for dinner. A big pot of vegetable soup. Oatmeal or cheap cereal for breakfast. Grilled cheese, peanut butter or canned soup for lunch. Don't buy any sodas or junk food. Popcorn that you pop yourself is a cheap snack.

  • buy potatoes they are very versatile, also buy whole chickens when they are on sale, nothing goes to waste. u can make homemade stock out of the bones and freeze it for making chicken soups or casseroles another day.
