my baby just discovered TV.......

he's three months old.......should i let him watch?

  • I don't think they can focus too well at that age, but the lights and colors might, sure why not?

  • around that age is when most babies discover the pretty lights, colors and sounds of the tv. they aren't actually watching, just looking really. and usually it doesn't last for very long. i would let them look whenever they were that age, just at a safe distance (because too close is no good for anyone's eyes) and not for prolonged periods, although something else would grab their attention minutes later.

  • Mine did too. We noticed she was looking at the TV when my DH was watching football. I know the recommendation is for them not to have any screen time until they are 2, but practically speaking, that's going to be impossible. I don't sweat it.
