  • Salt scrub. I worked at a gas station and we would clean the caked on blackness with salt.

  • I do like the salt scrub. But I also use vinegar in the carafe and run it though the brew cycle a few times. A 1/2 cup of white vinegar in the carafe, the fill with water. Everything gets nice a clean, inside parts that is.

  • I make a vinegar and water mix and brew it through (no coffee). This cleans all of the inner workings of the coffee maker. I do this once a month and it keeps our coffee always tasting yummy.

  • i do the same thing as scout mom. i actually use about a cup of vinegar plus water, and after i run it through i run 2 cycles with plain water, clean water each time.
