What is a natural cleaner for baked on stovetop gook?

we stay on top of it but it seems any little drop of food spilled on a burner bakes in before whatever is cooking is done, making after cooking cleanup impossible...baking soda is not working! Any ideas?

  • White vinegar. It doesn't smell that great, but it will cut through grease, especially if you use it with baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda on the area, then pour just a cap full of white vinegar on it..let it foam for a few minutes, then use warm, wet washcloth to wipe it up. If there is any left, it should be soft enough to clean up with regular soapy water.
