4 months old and hasn't rolled over

is this normal. She tries and almost can but hasn't made it all the way over yet. And when on her stomach she can lift her head up off the floor and hold it for a few seconds but doesn'tlike being on her tummy. Am i causing her to be behing by not making her stay on her tummy longer?

  • Dont even worry about it, as long as shes developing well in other ways shes fine. My ds is 8 1/2 months and he just mastered rolling over, hes on track with everything else, but he just could not roll over, he was completely uninterested until about a month ago

  • Don't worry she is just fine. My dd is 4 1/2 months and she doesn't roll all the way over either. At her 4 month check up Dr. said babies usually start to roll over between 4-6 months of age.

  • My older daughter didn't roll over at all until she was 6 1/2 months old. She actually could sit on her own before she could roll! But now she is 2 1/2 with no problems at all! My 6 month old now has been rolling over since 3 months- we call her the roly poly! Every child is so different- but I wouldn't be worried about it at this point! Just enjoy her!

  • Don't worry about it. I'm actually the opposite, I will freak out the day that he rolls over/sits up/holds his own bottle/crawls/walks/drives a car...he's growing up too fast!

  • My son is 4 1/2 and he is about half way there. Dont worry he will do it on his own time.
