My doc said to fast for diabetes test tommorow. What time does fasting start?

My apmt is at 9am. Forgot to ask the doc about the time. Thanks!

  • 12 hours prior is usually a good time.

  • My doc made me go 12 hours because I had a sugar of 129 and they wanted the max for the redo. It was normal. I just ate cereal before she sprung that test on me the first time.

  • usually it;s "nothing to eat or drink after midnight" except for water they are not going to make a pregnant woman go w/o food for 12 hours lol

  • midnight if your appointment is at noon. Fasting has to start 12 hours before the test!! I actually had GD... and took this test twice... Ugh!!
