What all do you need to stream Netflix movies to your TV through Wii?

Besides a Wii and a Netflix subscription, obviously. Do you need some type of internet subscription with the Wii? Or do you need some kind of fancy cable service? I'm a little technologically retarded! We have Netflix, basic cable, and will be getting a Wii at Christmas. Is that all we'll need?

  • You need a wireless internet router for your Wii to connect to or some other way to hook your Wii directly to the internet - the same way you update all your upgrades to the Wii system

  • You need to request the Wii dvd to activate it. Look under your account.

  • You need the Wii DVD which is free and wireless internet for your computer to be able to "speak" to your Wii.

    It is really neat!

  • You need Wireless internet and the Wii Netflix disc, but I just got an email that you won't need the disc any longer. I'll have to check it out!

  • you no longer need the Wii disk, just the wireless router and update your Wii channels, as long aas you have the netflix subscription your good to go.

  • You just need a wifi connection. There's a disc you can order for free from Netlix that slips into your Wii, but they also have a Netflix channel.

We prefer the channel over the disc connection, because the channel has a search function with an onscreen keyboard, whereas the disc only allows you to access your instant queue and suggested titles. (If you use the disc, you have to go into your queue and add titles via your computer, then wait an hour or so for the Wii to update.)
