help plz!!

so I have been thinking about selling cake, cupcakes, and other desserts. But the help that I need with is how much do I charge? I know I want at least the cost of supplies but how much more of a profit do I ask for?

  • Retail or wholesale?
    Are you going to have a storefront?
    We have a specialty cupcake store that gets $3 a cupcakke. They are fantastic.
    We also have a cupcake truck (like an ice cream truck)
    They have advertised on Groupon.
    If they were $1 a piece I might go often and buy more.
    At $3 each I only go for very special and buy a few.

  • Check out the bakeries in your area and see what they charge. Base your prices on what they charge, but you can charge a little extra because it has that "homemade-reminds-me-of-grandma's-kitchen" feel.
