My husband likes electric orange spicy cheese goo that resembles a dip and comes in a can.

Jalapeno-Nacho cheese flavored chemical..goo.

I'm looking for an alternate that's not so...well...foul.

I made an attempt tonight with a basic white sauce, white cheddar, and some seasonings, including dried ancho chilis and it was good, it kicked butt actually, but it wasn't the same.

Perhaps it lacked the goo. I don't know.
So I'm looking for a recipe for nacho cheese that has a lower chemical lode than the stuff in a can...
thanks for any suggestions.

  • We make a sauce using habanero jack. It's a mixture of the habanero cheese, cheddar cheese, and a white sauce. Sometimes we add diced jalapenos and some evaporated milk.

I guess you can add a little annatto to make it orange for him. Or dye it orange if he is that picky. Men, I tell you..

  • It's really expensive. If I can figure out how to make it, he can have his treat more often with less cancer. It's a win-win, really.

  • Have you tried Velveeta with a can of chili and tomato? Probably the same amount of chemicals, but you can always cut it with cream...
