Do you have real maple syrup or the fake stuff made with high fructose corn syrup? The fake stuff won't freeze in your freezer (maybe outside in the depths of winter) - the freezing temperature for the HFCS is too low, you will not reach it.
My guess is, the sugar content in the maple syrup (real stuff) makes the freezing point too low in the real stuff, too......
I am curious why you are trying to freeze syrup!
