  • i had my first of many scans when i was 6 weeks
    (i had some bleeding)
they could not hear much of one at 6 weeks, made appt for another scan in a few days
longest few days of my life
at next one, they could more of heartbeat, nice and strong
so in my case, 6 weeks and one day, faint but not strong one
a few days later very strong, could hear it

  • The earliest I heard mine was around 8 weeks...BUT the earliest I have SEEN the heartbeat on an ultrasound was at around 4-5 weeks. I have had 2 miscarriages so after that right when I found out I was preggo they sent me in for the ultrasound. So that's why I got one so early.

  • With ultrasound, I heard and saw both of my twins at 8 weeks. I heard it on a dopppler at 12 weeks!!! My doc said that in some cases you can hear as early as 6 weeks. You should hear something at first ultrasound appt since they usually schedule them around 8 weeks.

  • my midwife always said you are pretty much guaranteed to hear it at 8 weeks. that is why she would never see anyone before they were 8 weeks by lmp. i always went in at 8 weeks and heard it that day with a regular doppler.
