An Easy Lesson

I learned a long time ago that relationships are alot easy if you learn to be accepting. Accept that some are selfish, accept that some will always be distant and forgetful. Stop trying to expect people to change or even realize their mistakes much less apologize for Any thoughtlessness. Then you can accept your self and move on to a more self fullfilling life!

  • Exactly!

Byron Katie, the ultimate existentialist, points out that they're all living in their own universes, with their own universal laws --and unless you live there, too, you can't accurately see why they do anything. You never know, they may be making great sacrifices, being noble and avoiding much worse than they are apparently doing.

I have noticed that people attract the kind of enemies that they need, to learn what they need to learn. And Fiatpax is right: they keep showing up in variations until whatever needs to be learned is learned...

  • i like the saying
some people come into your life for
    a reason
    a season
    or a lifetime

rude, distant, firgetful, disrespectful, even abusive people ... all these teach you something
hopefully learn the lesson the first time so another person does not have to come into your life to try and teach you the same lesson

i just ended a relationship with a man, not the same person, but very very similair lesson (guess i did not learn the first time)

  • I think the point is to learn from your past mistakes. When your a young girl, you're naive and hopeful. As you get older, hopefully you learn to see the signs of the things that will later become unacceptable to your. So, maybe it's not learning to accept, it's learning to know what is unacceptable.
