what have you purchased generic of, regretted, and went back to name brand?

  • There are only a few items that I buy brand name for. One that comes to mind is Pillsbury Crescent rolls. The generic brand is just awful.

  • Sliced cheese. LOL I tried the generic, but I just can't do it. I gotta have Kraft sliced cheese!!

  • On time i bought generic mayonaisse because i was to lazy to go to the other store and buy Hellmans Yuck never again i love my Hellmans Mayo!

  • There aren't many store brands that I think are vastly inferior to name. Parents Choice diapers. I used like three of them, got poop all over my house, and took them back.

  • Diapers - I bought the store brand once to save money and I ended up cleaning more clothes, sheets, etc. then ever before!

  • Cereal. It's probably just in my head, but I don't think the generic brands taste as good as the name brands. I use a lot of generic items, but I won't bend on cereal. LOL.

  • Cereal. When I lived in VA and we qualfied for WIC, the only cereal we could get was store brand. Some were okay, but others were not.
