  • Animals often have an extra sense about women who are pregnant. Some animals become extra lovey, others become violent, and still others appear indifferent. I have a dog, german shepherd/husky mix, who is a complete chicken. Oh, he'll bark loud but if you try to touch him he'll run off peeing. When I was pregnant with my first he became super protective. He even snapped at this one guy who went to shake my hand. And what's funny is he doesn't even like kids. My son is now 2 1/2 and he's only just now tolerating him touching him; he used to just run off anytime my son came close.

On the other hand, my brother's cat became agressive. Anytime I would walk past, he'd swipe at me. I was petting him at one time and he actually bit me. He returned to lovey after my son was born, though. And my dog became a coward once again.
