Is it wrong of me to only get my 1 yr old a(meaning only 1) toy for Christmas?

I have 3 other children and I they will not be getting toys from me this year. I am sure there grandparents will get them enough toys. Also the reason behind this is because they don't play with what they already have. The oldest 3 still have toys from last year that they have not ever played with.

  • No, it is not wrong of you. You might also put some of the toys not played with in a closet for awhile. Lots of times when they are brought out a few months later they are seen as new and different to the kids.

  • Um if I didn't get presents for 1 child I wouldn't buy presents for any of them. The 1 year old won't know the difference, hell just give him/her boxes and paper to play with. But the older kids would know that mommy only bought a toy for the baby

  • Yep I think that's just fine- no need to buy things just to buy them

  • I agree with PP... a child that young has no idea anyway

  • You're fine. It's not like your child is going to remember it.

  • My kids also rarely play with toys. They like clothes, sports equipment, coats, other things.

  • I didn't say my older 3 were not getting presents. Just not any toys this year.
