bad diaper rash

My 13m old son has a really bad case of diaper rash. I don't know what to do. Right now he has cornstarch on and is walking around diaperless. I feel really bad that he even got it. My DH didn't think it was that bad over the weekend when he was watching them this weekend. I guess now he'll know:( So I guess I want to know if there are any other tricks to help heal him up. Thanks

  • Calmoseptine cream. It's hard to get out of the tube but it works wonders.

  • Warm water bath, gentle drying, and then boudreaux's butt paste worked wonders for my son whenever he got a rash. GL!

  • Air thier little bottom out! When my little ones had bad diaper rash, I would let them have some no diaper time for at least an hour or two. It helped so much! If you cant let them air out thier bottom, then open thier diaper every hour and reaply A&D ointment.
Things I did to help prevent; Always use the same type of wipes and diapers, changing them can cause rashes. Especially changing the wipes! Hope this helps.

  • When my ds has a bad rash, i give him a warm bath then put vaseline on it. Works great IMO. Don't give juice as that will only make him go number 2 more(which i'm sure you know that, just reminding you) Good Luck!
