  • My experience, my kids like everything we like, because we have never given them the option of having separate meals to accommodate them. If they are hungry they eat what we do. So far I have 2 kids that are not picky.

  • No, not really. My DD doesn't like most of what i eat. She is vegetarian though & i am not. DH also says he never liked the food his mother ate. To this day, they still argue about what to have over dinner...holidays are a nightmare trying to accommodate every one's pallets... I like to eat everything under the sun, so i guess i can say that i liked to eat what my parents did.

  • Not exactly... but your kids will have a strong preference for familiar smells and flavours until they're much older.

Kids will not eat things that the adults around them make 'a bad smell' faces at. So if their dad makes that face at lots of the foods you eat and you make that face at lots of the foods he eats, you may well be altering the range of foods your kids will eat...

  • Not always. Sometimes a texture or allergy issue will come into play. My DH will eat pretty much anything as long as it is kosher. Same for me, except I'm a vegetarian. My oldest was fairly picky until recently, especially with veggies even though I've eaten mostly veggies all of his life. The second one eats more like me. And who knows where we got the 3rd one. He will not eat most cheese or pastas, no pizza and no eggs. He'll eat fruits and veggies easily though.

  • I don't think that is correct. My kids eat things that neither my husband or I like.

  • No, not at all! My kids are so picky! I'm not. They barely ate anything. If it looked weird, or has a weird texture, they won't even try it. Chicken must be pure white. They seem to outgrow this by 7 though.
