Should you take a trip/vacation if you struggling financially ?

The trip is going to cost, it's not free.

Just one of my random questions.

  • If it were me, I'd skip the vacation and spend the money on the bills and necessities. Then when I was able to I would start to put $ aside to be used toward a vacation sometime in the future- when finances are better.

  • It depends. We were struggling MAJORLY, yet we went on vacation last year. It cost us about $1000 total - meals, lodging, driving - for the whole week. We had already paid for the main part before things got really tight. We live debt free and paid all our bills. Barely managed to pay for the trip, but we did. So I guess it depends on how much you are struggling. If you have to get help to pay the bills, you are using credit cards and have unpaid debt, then no, you shouldn't go.

  • Probably not. Every day expenses need to come first.

  • As long as the bills were paid then I would. In fact we have we struggle every day and need that escape so we take lil trips and took one big one last year. But we made sure everything was taken care of first.
