How do you get the white strains off of dishes from the dishwasher?

I use powdered dishwashing detergent.

  • Put a small bowl of vinegar in the dishwasher before you run it... That will help it not to happen in the first place.
    Beyond that, all you can do is rinse twice.

  • I buy generic almost evertything but NOT dishwashing soap- i get the cascade little gel paks, they work better./

  • I agree, Cascade gel packs work better than anything else I have tried. Also, add a rinse agent to your dishwasher to help get the residue off (the packs have this built in).

  • That is mineral deposits....hard water...so you need a water softening agent or a water softener.
