when do you start letting the baby sleep with a regular blanket on?

My son has the wearable blanket, which I love. I am in no rush at all to put him under a regular nlanket - just wondering....

  • I am a paranoid freak when it comes to that. I didn't let him until he turned one.

  • It was really cold the first winter she was alive, so she was about 4 months old. She was wearing 3 pair of pjs, socks, mittens, and a hat, with a space heater on too. She's 2 now.

  • Professional advice to prevent SIDS disasters are to wrap the baby as in swaddle them while they loose blankets. I started covering with a blanket at about 7 months. I think if you infant is crawling and sitting okay, they should be big enough to use a blankie.

  • Mine had blankets on him from the start but mine rolled over on his side within the day after he was home, I didn't worry about it.
