do you have to cook pureed pumpkin

Im making pumpkin cheesecake and using the no bake cheesecake.. I mix some of the cheesecake with pumpkin and added some spices.. So if I put it in the fridge as is will the pumpkin firm up some, or is it necessary to bake for the pumpkin to firm? thanks

  • you said you're using the no bake crap, so I assume you do not bake it. canned pumpkin does not have to be cooked.

  • my question is does it have to be cooked to become firm, or will it firm on its own in the fridge. I have the bottom layer cheesecake mix then top layer is pumpkin/cheesecake mixed together. Im just worried if the top layer with the pumpkin will firm up thanks

  • it will not get as firm, unless you used less milk, but if you try to bake it it will just get nasty.
