  • Most definitely. In fact, this past summer, DH & I cancelled our satellite service (roughly the same as cable) and just did Netflix. It saved a lot. Of course, then he got a package deal ad in the mail and a day later, we have satellite again. At least the bundle deal doesn't cost more (well, maybe a few bucks more).

  • All depends on how much you pay for cable.

  • Probably, but we rent from redbox. We don't watch many movies so when we are in the mood to watch some that is what we do. We have farmer's channels so we watch a lot of PBS and CBS and since our t.v. is older we have one of those stupid boxes. We get quit a few channels w/o cable or satellite.

  • We got rid of our supercable over a year ago, and we are saving alot of money! We get a basic cable now - which as $12 a month and gives us a few channels, mostly our broadcast network stuff (nbc, cbs etc) and a local news channel.

We also got Netflix membership for $9 a month and use the on demand netflix through the wii and LOVE it. I watched Julie & Julia last night through that :)

Sure, we are tempted by HBO and I totally miss the Discover Channel and History Channel, but we have plenty else to watch - for adults and kids. We pay total about $20 a month and live with what we have.

  • Probably, but watching TV on a computer would be killer on your eyes.

  • Probably, but it depends on how much you pay for cable and which plan you get from Netflix. We just canceleled Netflix to use Redbox instead. But this is in addition to our satellite plan.
