  • I taught them we are all equal in the eyes of God, and to be kind to their fellow humans, they learned their lesson quite well!

  • What a wonderful question! Every night I pray to God and the Universe with my four year old son. I pray out loud that he be granted empathy, compassion, a sense of humor to help him cope with difficult situations, and the ability to forgive others. Those are the qualities I hope and wish he will have as he grows and becomes a man. My other part of the prayer is for others to have the same qualities and the ability to forgive us when we make poor choices in this world.  Raising a child is so hard.  And you are very right....we need to have some idea about what we hope to instill in our children.
