  • In so many ways, yes. Too many people use the holidays as a reason to find time with loved ones, to tell those who mean the most to us how very important they are - when, in fact, we should live each moment as if it were our last. Life can change in the blink of an eye, those we love can be gone in the flash of an instant, and our existence will never be the same. Don't wait for the holidays to celebrate - every day is cause for a celebration.

  • yes, yes and yes. So over rated, that is why we stopped celebrating in the traditional way. Thanks giving we I cook and take the food to the homeless and we serve. Christmas no gifts, great food, great family time. We have been doing this for the past 15 yrs or so. We celebrate life every day so every day seems like a holiday to us.

  • holidays themselves are good, the over commercialization of EVERYTHING is not

  • I guess it depends on what you expect from them. If you go in thinking everything has to be perfect, that everyone will get along, that it will be like a scene from a movie, you're bound to be disappointed. I love the holidays and I am never disappointed. For us it's just a time to get together with the family as a whole, to see some extended family we don't get to see often, have a good meal - no grand expectations, just being together as a family.

  • I think that holidays are fun, but too many people are trying too hard. Also if there is a lot of dysfunction in your family, holidays can be stressful...The trick is to relax, and just let it be what it is.
